Victor Marie Hugo atau yang sering dikenal dengan Victor Hugo lahir 26 February 1802 dan meninggal 22 Mei 1885 pada umur 83 tahun adalah salah satu penyair dan penulis novel terbesar di Perancis. Karya-karyanya yang sudah sangat terkenal dipenjuru dunia antara lain Les Misérables dan The Hunchback of Notre-Dame. Hasil karyanya menggambarkan hampir semua isu politik dan sosial, serta kecendrungan artistik pada zamannya.
